Sons of Anarchy Season 6 Promo (HD) Trailer
Sons of Anarchy Enlists C. Thomas Howell, Steve Howey for Season 6 Arcs
Erstwhile Outsider-turned-Southland cop C. Thomas Howell is heading to Sons of Anarchy for a Season 6 arc, TVLine has confirmed.
Additionally, Shameless actor Steve Howey will appear in multiple episodes of FX’s biker drama.
Howell has been cast as Frank Eagan, an ATF agent with questionable loyalties. Howey, meanwhile, will play Hopper, a hardcore north Vegas member who crosses paths with SAMCRO.
Howell and Howey join a S6 guest cast that also includes Treme‘s Kim Dickens, The Shield‘s CCH Pounder and Beauty and the Beast‘s Bridget Regan.
Production on SOA‘s sixth season is currently underway.
Sons of Anarchy Casts Shield Vet CCH Pounder
Another Shield alum is ready to live a Charming life.
CCH Pounder has landed a multi-episode arc on the sixth season of FX’s Sons of Anarchy, EW.com reports.
The actress joins SOA as a San Joaquin County District Attorney who comes into contact with the biker bad boys of SAMCRO.
Pounder is the latest Shield star to visit Sons, with previous guests including (but not limited to) Walton Goggins, Kenny Johnson and Jay Karnes.
Sons of Anarchy: Look Who’s Back!
As if Tara’s prison ordeal weren’t enough for her and Jax to contend with on Sons of Anarchy, one of the embattled couple’s longtime adversaries will be back in their crosshairs in Season 6.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Drea de Matteo has signed on to reprise her role as Jax’s presumably-steamed ex (and baby momma) Wendy for multiple episodes.
When last seen, Jax cruelly injected the former junkie with heroin as a way of undermining her credibility after she threatened to string up his dirty laundry all over the Charming police department.
While Wendy’s return doesn’t bode well for Jax and now-incarcerated Tara, it could prove to be in the best interest of little Abel and Thomas. As series creator Kurt Sutter recently pointed out to TVLine, “The most f—ed-up person at the beginning of the show is now, in a weird way, the healthiest parent.
“She’s the only one that’s hit bottom and had to do some work on herself,” he continued. “And now she has some self-awareness, which none of those guys do.”
Sons of Anarchy‘s sixth season bows this fall on FX.
Sons of Anarchy Scoop: Jimmy Smits Returning Full-Time in Season 6
Sons of Anarchy is making Jimmy Smits a full-time member.
TVLine has learned that Smits — who joined the FX smash last season as gangbanger-turned- ”companionator” Nero — is not only returning in Season 6, but will appear in all 13 episodes.
In December, series creator Kurt Sutter told TVLine that he was anxious to further examine the relationship between Nero and Katey Sagal’s Gemma, but noted that Smits’ busy schedule could be an obstacle.
“I dig [them],” said the boss. “In the finale, when he’s all twisted up about being back in the life, that’s the thing that makes Gemma the most comfortable. She knows what to do with those kinds of men; she knows how to be strong for those kinds of men. So, what does that look like? It’s a culture clash that we haven’t explored yet. To plug her into that world, which is traditionally somewhat misogynistic, could be interesting to see played out a little bit and to see what that looks like. I’d love to keep that going.”
Despite being signed for all episodes produced in Season 6, Smits won’t technically be billed as a series regular.
SOA, which currently stands as FX’s highest-rated series ever, is slated to start production on Season 6 in early summer ahead of a fall 2013 launch.
TVLine’s Performer of the Week: Charlie Hunnam
A new feature in which we spotlight the past week’s shining star
THE PERFORMER | Charlie Hunnam
THE SHOW | Sons of Anarchy (FX)
THE EPISODE | “J’ai Obtenu Cette”
THE AIRDATE | December 4, 2012
THE PERFORMANCE | Jax Teller completed his transformation into a new man this week during the gritty drama’s season finale, in which he officially became the ruthless outlaw leader he’d long despised. Hunnam turned in yet another impeccable, nuanced performance in the final 90 minutes of Sons‘ fifth season as the underrated actor expressed a range of emotions rarely seen from the King of Charming.
He feigned ignorance while being questioned about Damon Pope’s murder (“You give me way too much credit. I’m just a mechanic looking out for my family.”). He showed fatherly affection to troubled Son Juice (“I’m proud of you,” with a kiss). He complacently accepted his fate of morphing into Clay’s equal (“Maybe I’m not so different…”). And Hunnam conquered it all.
His most poignant work, however, involved no dialogue and came about in the installment’s final moments: his cold, unnerving glare in response to his wife being carted off to jail for something she did to help save him and his club. It was a unsettling parting shot and a perfect cap to Hunnam’s triumphant season.
HONORABLE MENTION | Suburgatory‘s Parker Young for his fearless, fully committed, Incredible Hulk-inspired meltdown upon Ryan’s discovery that he was adopted.
