TBS Renews Cougar Town for Season 5

The cul de sac crew will be uncorking more wine than usual tonight: Cougar Town has been renewed for fifth season. The Bill Lawrence sitcom, which was canceled by ABC last spring and subsequently saved by TBS, is currently wrapping up its first season on the cable channel, with the Season 4 finale set for April 9. The network has ordered 13 episodes for Season 5, which will likely air in early 2014.
According to TBS, Cougar Town‘s fourth season has averaged 2.8 million total viewers and 1.7 million viewers in the 18-49 demo once DVR numbers are factored in, enough to make it the network’s number-one primetime original series ever.

8 pm Cougar Town (ABC) | One-hour ABC finale: When Grayson gripes that he’s living Groundhog Day because the gang shows up at the same time every day at Jules’ house, his bride-to-be requests a bachelorette party themed to that movie. Then, Grayson convinces Jules to elope to Napa — only to have the Cul de Sac crew tag along. David Arquette and, yes, TVLine’s Michael Ausiello (watch video) guest-star. Next stop: TBS in 2013!
