Freddie Prinze Jr. is bugging out for his next role: The actor will guest-star on Lifetime’s upcoming series Witches of East End as a shy entomologist, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Based on the novel of the same name, Witches of East End follows single mom Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond), who worries as her daughters Freya (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (Rachel Boston) discover that all the women in their family are witches. Prinze will reunite with his Freddie co-star Madchen Amick to play Leo Wingate, an exotic insect expert who can’t tell if Amick’s Wendy Beauchamp, the sister of Joanna, is into him or his six-legged friends.

Currently, Prinze is only slated to appear in the fourth episode, but it’s possible he’ll return. Prinze will also appear in the Bones season premiere on Monday, Sept. 16, in which he’ll play a CIA agent who has a history with Booth.

Witches of East End premieres Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10/9c on Lifetime.

Lifetime’s Witches of East End has cast its spell on Eric Winter.

The Mentalist and Brothers & Sisters alum is joining the new drama in the series regular role of Dash, the JFK Jr.-esque fiancé of Jenna Dewan-Tatum‘s reluctant witch, TVLine has learned exclusively.

He replaces Gossip Girl‘s Patrick Heusinger, who departed the project earlier this month for creative reasons.

Lifetime handed Witches a 10-episode order back in January. The series centers on Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (American Dreams’ Rachel Boston), both of whom unknowingly are their family’s next generation of witches.

The cast also includes Mädchen Amick as Joanna’s sister Wendy.

American Dreams’ Rachel Boston Cast in Lifetime’s Witches of East End

A magical Lifetime pilot has thrown another witch into the mix. American Dreams’ Rachel Boston will play Ingrid Beauchamp in the cable channel’s Witches of East End, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Ingrid is described as cautious, quirky, smart and unaware of how beautiful she is. When the pilot – based on the Melissa de la Cruz novel of the same name — begins, Ingrid and her wild younger sister Freya (played by Jenna Dewan) don’t know that they’ve been witches since birth. A series of events eventually forces mom Joanna (Julia Ormond) to tell them the truth.
In addition to playing JJ’s girlfriend Beth in NBC’s nostalgic Dreams, Boston’s other TV credits include In Plain Sight, 7th Heaven, Grey’s Anatomy, and coincidentally, Eastwick – the 2009 ABC series based on a John Updike novel about supernatural happenings surrounding a trio of women.
In addition, newcomer Daniel Ditomasso has been cast as Killian Gardiner, Freya’s future brother-in-law. He’s brooding and incredibly sexy, and his thrall over Freya doesn’t bode well for her engagement to Patrick Heusinger’s Dash. (Ditomasso also appears in the first episode of The CW’s Beauty and the Beast, which airs Thursday, Oct. 11.)
