TVLine has learned that the onetime Common Lawman will guest-star on CBS’ Person of Interest as a POI whom Detective Carter (played by Taraji P. Henson), Agent Shaw (new series regular Sarah Shahi) and Zoe Morgan (guest star Paige Turco) each try to catch the eye of — by any dressed-to-kill means necessary.
As previously scooped by TVLine, the trio of fierce femmes are united by a cause when Reese and Finch’s target for the week is revealed to be a ladykiller. Enter Kole, playing “a real lothario,” says exec producer Greg Plageman.
Since Common Law‘s one-and-done run ended, Kole has recurred on The Following and booked a multi-episode role on the coming season of White Collar.
Person of Interest opens Season 3 on Sept. 24, now airing Tuesdays at 10/9c; Kole appears in the third episode.
Previously at the CBS Upfronts, it was announced that the drama had upgraded Sarah Shahi, who plays Agent Shaw, to series regular.
A Whedonverse alum, Acker recently told TVLine that she expected to return in some capacity — she just wasn’t sure to what degree.
“I was really happy that I got the phone call [from The Machine] at the end [of the finale], so I feel like they have to at least bring me back,” she said. “The great thing about science fiction shows is I really don’t know even what the character is going to be [at any moment]. I feel like I took such a crazy journey [as Root] this year, learning all this stuff I did in the finale about The Machine and Harold. And now that she’s had lots of therapy, we’ll see!”
POI returns Sept. 24, now airing Tuesdays at 10/9c.
Finch and Reese are about to meet their match. In-demand Fairly Legal star Sarah Shahi has been tapped for a recurring role on the sophomore CBS drama Person Of Interest. She will play Shaw, a fearless, sexy and witty operative in a secret paramilitary organization that tracks and eliminates terrorists before they can act. As POI creator/executive producer Jonathan Nolan put it, “if James Bond and Sarah Connor had a kid, Shaw would kick its ass.” Shahi will first appear in the February 21 episode titled Relevance, which will be directed Nolan. For now, Shahi has been booked for an arc this season, but I hear she may continue in Season 3 of the drama that has been growing in the ratings, boosted by a Two And A Half Men lead-in.
This is the second high-profile arc for Shahi since the recent cancellation of her USA series Fairly Legal. The actress, who has already been approached for several pilots, also recurs on freshman NBC drama Chicago Fire. She is with CAA, McKeon-Myones and Neil Meyer.
