Seven will produce fewer episodes of Packed to the Rafters for its next season.
Season 6 will be 12 episodes, down from 22 episodes in Season 5.
However Seven is understood to still have 12 episodes unaired from Season 5.
Seven also returns Winners and Losers and launches A Place to Call Home next year, which has 13 episodes.
The Seven Network has renewed its Australian drama series Winners and Losers for a third season, but reports today suggest the broadcaster is questioning the future of Packed to the Rafters.
While Seven has already confirmed a sixth season of Rafters for 2013, there are whispers that it will be the show’s last, according to the Herald Sun.
It’s understood that the final season would be a “celebration” with original cast members in talks to return, including Jessica Marais and Hugh Sheridan who is now host of Ten‘s I Will Survive.
Meanwhile, Melissa Bergland, Virginia Gay, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith, and Melanie Vallejo will all return for the third season of Winners and Losers next year.
Seven’s head of drama Julie McGauran said: “2013 is going to be a landmark year for Channel Seven’s drama department. Our drama slate is at full capacity with the return of Winners and Losers as well as Packed to the Rafters, Home and Away and the new drama A Place to Call Home.”
